The distinct advantage of an island the size of Chios is the large number of beaches it has to offer which number no less than 55! They are quite different from each other so offer a variety for different pallettes there is no doubt that a visitor to Chios will eventually find the one that will become a firm favourite. Some of these fine beaches to visit are quite near the town of Chios, they are listed alphabetically as: Afanis, Agia Fotia, Daskalopetra, Karfas, Komi, Lefkathia, Lithi, Lo, Mavra Volia, Megas Limnionas and Nagos.

The variety of types of beaches available is very wide, you will find that the beaches of Chios will cover your needs quite adequately from sandy to pebbly and even rocky beaches and from the wild, hidden, out of the way variety only accessible by boat, to the cosmopolitan beach that is organised with all the comforts one expects to find.
