This traditional house has been decorated and lovingly restored into a unique and quaint country home. Entering from the private front terrace with fantastic views, a door leads into a long kitchen and corner dining area which is open plan to a raised sitting room. The floors are traditional stone tile and the ceilings have open wood beams. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking your favourite meals with plenty of counter space and is decorated in a country island style. The round dining table has comfortable seating with a built-in sofa area and cushioned chairs. Stepping up three stairs, you enter a cosy sitting room with a corner fireplace.

The traditional island decor, mixed with trinkets from far away travels, gives it a character all its own. The corner sofa seating is full of big cushions to curl up with a good book or take an afternoon siesta. From the sitting room, a stone stairway ascends to the second level. At the top of the stairs is a landing where you will also find a door providing a second entrance to the house. Also found on the landing is a w/c with hand basin and entrance to a small room with a single bed, suitable for a child.Villa Thalia

To reach the master bedroom you must pass through this small room. The spacious master bedroom has a beautiful elevated sleeping Pool terraceplatform and gives an exotic impression, with large comfortable pillows and mosquito netting. The en-suite bathroom has bath, wardrobe and storage. This bedroom has wooden flooring and high open-beamed ceilings with French doors leading onto a balcony with some of the most stunning views to be found on the island. With an intense blue sea outlining the islands in the distance and the port of Loutraki below, it is an unmatched spot for tranquillity and beauty.

A second bedroom attached to the main house is situated directly next to the kitchen with its own outside entrance. This bedroom is furnished with a small double bed (120m in width) and is decorated in the same style as the main house. It has an en-suite w/c shower room and has easy access to the front terrace and the pool area.

GUEST HOUSE
From the front terrace of the main house there is access by a path to the stone built guesthouse, boasting its’ own terrace overlooking the sea and port town of Loutraki.

This very private small cottage is again decorated with the same quaint country style as the main house and offers comfortable accommodation for two. It comprises an open plan bedroom with double bed and a kitchenette for the preparation of simple meals. In the kitchen area is also a washing machine, a wardrobe and the wc/shower room is reached from a door off the kitchen.

EXTERIOR
Villa Thalia is the picture of a quaint country house; white with sea green shutters and pretty flowers growing in terracotta pots. The picturesque vine-covered front terrace can be used for outdoor dining and its convenient location just outside the kitchen makes serving a breeze. The spectacular view makes this a favourite spot and leaving the villa can be a difficult task. Perhaps the only place that is more appealing is the kidney-shaped swimming pool, which seems to be suspended in air high above the sea.

It is situated in one of the best positions on the property, enjoying a panoramic view to Skiathos and the neighboring islands. Certainly the sunsets at Villa Thalia are one of its’ most outstanding attractions and brings visitors back time and again to this exquisite setting.

SURROUNDINGS
Villa Thalia is located in the most quiet and un-commercialised area of the island. Situated between Klima and Glossa, most visitors to this area of the island are day-trippers. Glossa, the islands' second largest town, has a marked difference to Skopelos town. Its picturesque cobbled streets and interesting architecture gives the impression of being mostly untouched by tourism. Its distance from Skopelos though, means that it is self-supporting and has all the necessities to hand including bakery, butcher, pharmacy and doctor. Glossa also boasts one of the most popular and upmarket tavernas found on the island.

Loutraki is also a short distance from the house, down the winding main road from Glossa and serves as the secondary port to the island. Here you will find a quaint waterfront lined with tavernas, some hanging just over the waters' edge. Loutraki has a shorter season than Skopelos and is only fully open from June to mid-September. Walking is a favorite pastime for visitors to Villa Thalia, with walks to the church of Ag. Anargiri only 10 minutes from the house and from there down to the sea and Loutraki another 20 minutes, where you can have a refreshing swim. A short drive away (approx 3.5klms) is the unspoilt beach of Armenopetra and a little further, some of the islands best beaches at Hovolo, Milia and Kastani.

SUITABILITY
Villa Thalia is the perfect place for a secluded, romantic getaway. Its private guest house is also an excellent addition for two couples or a family wishing to enjoy the quiet beauty of rural Greece. Villa Thalia combines a touch of luxury and simple elegance in a traditional country pool villa.
