The canyon below the village of
Spileo is of unique beauty. The river Venetikos
passes through it. The road leading there is not asphalt but soil with small rocks easy to access by car or motorbike, with care of course, since rain might have washed-out part of the road. The road reaches the entrance of the canyon where a stone bridge has been built so that shepherds and animals can easily cross the river. No matter how warm the day might be, once you reach the bridge the air coming from one edge of the canyon to the other will make you shiver. Dress well. |
