Endless sandy beaches with crystal clear turquoise-blue water. Green valleys, olive groves, mountain landscapes, and more than 40 small white villages with tradition and culture, music and dance still present.

Orkos is the area between Plaka and Mikri Vigla on the west coast of Naxos, about 18km from Naxos town along the main road, and about 9km from Naxos town along the sandy road through the farmers fields. It is located between Plaka and Mikri Vigla, where you can find a supermarket, a surf school and local taverns.

ORKOS VILLAGE is situated on the slope, about 100m from the sea and the beaches and consists of bungalows with 26 open-plan studios built in the traditional Cycladic white style, and connected with stairs and walls in stones. Orkos Village gives you the feeling of living in a Greek village, and not in the standard hotel you find wherever you are.

Orkos was built in 1989 and extended in 1995. All studios have private balconies with a unique view to the blue sea and the sunset.

In the center of the complex you will find the outside-inside tavern and bar, and different terraces and corners where you can enjoy your meals and your drinks accompanied by the unique view. Next to the roof-terrace you find the combined restaurant/all activity room/conference room.

All the studios are built in the genuine Naxian village style. Marble, wooden roofs, white walls. All studios fully equipped with double bed, single bed, and most of them have a sitting corner, also suited as spare bed. Separate shower and WC. Small kitchen corner with fridge, fully equipped. Telephone and radio. All studios have separate electric hot water tank.

All studios have a splendid view to the turquoise-blue sea and colour sparkling sunset. The studios have separate entrance, giving the necessary feeling of privacy.

The concept of Orkos Village give you a unique possibility to enjoy your holiday as well in silence alone, as together with friends and other guests. You will always find a corner for yourself, when you feel for meditation or a quiet hour...

You can walk 100-150m from Orkos Village, choosing between smaller secluded sandy beaches between the rocks, or to take a beach walk. Here and there along your beach walk you will always find a tavern to serve you shadow, relax, Greek meals, snack and coolers.

In front of Orkos Village, the secluded beaches between the rocks invite you to an exciting underwater adventure with the snorkel.

The area is among the top scorers in the Mediterranean for clean water.

You could take a walk between the old cedar trees, or up the hill to an area giving you a marvelous view of the sea and the beaches below.
Up the hill, about half an hour walk from Orkos Village, you will find old stone houses, wells and farming terraces which all have been abandoned a generation ago, and where you can take ininterupted walks for hours.

Or you may choose to walk half an hour through the farmers fields on sandy roads sheltered by bamboo, to an old Byzantine chapel Ag. Matheos, built over an even older basilica, which on its own was built on the place of a classic temple.
